Joseph Darren Kiser
June 1st, 1962--December 24th, 2010
 
Joseph Darren Kiser, 48, of Wheelersburg, a loving family man, went to be with the Lord Friday, December 24, 2010, at home. He was born June 1, 1962, in Ironton, a son of Annabelle Fraley Kiser, of Ironton, and the late Noah Kiser.
Joe was a Engineering Technician for AEP, a member of Christ Community Church and he enjoyed golfing with friends. He was married August 14, 1982, in Ohio Furnace, to Sue E. Williams Kiser, who survives.
 
Also surviving are two daughters, Sarah and Katilyn Kiser, both at home; one brother, Jeff Kiser and wife Donna, of Ironton; four sisters, Nancy Browning and husband Larry, of Kitts Hill; Judy Roe and husband George, of Trenton, Ga; Lois Murray and husband Ronnie, of Ironton; Naomi Blackburn and husband Mike, of Sciotoville; several nieces and nephews, and beloved son-in-law of Rev. Jack and Daisy Williams, of Portsmouth.
A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Christ Community Church in Portsmouth with Ralph Clay officiating, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
 
Friends may call Monday from 5-9 PM at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, and one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th St., Portsmouth.
 
 
Alice "Elsie" Humble
March 29, 1921-December 17, 2010
 
Alice "Elsie" Humble, 89, of Wheelersburg, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at SOMC Hospice. She was born March 29, 1921, in Greenup County, a daughter of the late Abraham and Ocie Logan.
 
She was a member of Plymouth Heights Church of the Nazarene and a former member of Garden City Free Will Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Ladie's Auxiliary and was a Treasurer and Clerk for the church. She was also a Porter Township Meals on Wheels volunteer. She was married August 13, 1941, in Portsmouth, to Walter Raymond Humble, who preceded her in death December 1, 1997.
 
She is survived by her son, Michael "Mick" Humble and his wife Donna, of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Jeff Humble and wife Traci, of Wheelersburg; Greg Humble and wife Christina, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Humble. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Walter, Wilmer, Addison and Robert Logan; and two sisters, Thelma Murphy and Bertie Cole.
 
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Monday, December 20, 2010, at Plymouth Heights Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Tim Throckmorton officiating, with interment at Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 P.M. at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg.
 
 
Marmie Elizabeth Gill
October 20, 1924-December 9, 2010
 
 
Marmie Elizabeth Gill, 86, of Wheelersburg, died Thursday, December 9, 2010, at home. Marmie was born October 20, 1924, in New Boston, a daughter of the late William Jones and Nancy Sullivan Jones.
 
Marmie was a 1943 graduate of New Boston High School, was a member of Boulevard United Methodist Church where she had been very active in the youth groups, was the office manager for the former Dreamland Pool, was retired from Williams Mfg. and attended Wheelersburg United Methodist Church.
 
She was married August 9, 1947, to Eston Gill, who preceded her in death May 16, 1994. Surviving are two sons, Jim Gill and wife Pam, of Wheelersburg; Tom Gill, of Georgetown, Kentucky; three sisters, Mina Perdue of Columbus, Betty Davis of Portsmouth and Callie Moore-Nelson, of Portsmouth; one brother, Leonard Jones of Montgomery, Alabama; four grandchildren, Richard Gill and wife Erin, of Dublin; Benjamin Gill and wife Toni, of Wheelersburg; Andrew Gill, of Deerfield Beach, Fla; and Tracey Morris and husband Chris, of Georgetown, Kentucky; seven great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and David Jones.
 
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 11, 2010, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Reverend Perry Prosch officiating, with interment at Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM and one hour prior to the services at the Funeral Home.
 
 
Evelyn Marie Toppins
August 7, 1934-November 27, 2010
 
Evelyn Marie Toppins, 76, of Sciotoville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 27, 2010, at SOMC Hospice. She was born August 7, 1934, to the late Fred Jenkins and Virgie McClendan.
 
Evelyn was a graduate of Portsmouth East High School in 1953. She was retired from Orkin Exterminating and was an active member of Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union.
 
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John "Bill" Toppins; four children, John (Anita) Toppins; Tom (Kristi) Toppins; Sam (Pam) Toppins; and Amy Marie Toppins; her sisters, Geneva (Dan) Lavender; Freda Gable; Velma (Larry) Pullman; Bonnie (Rick) Phipps and brother David (Pam) Jenkins. She is also survived by a special nephew, Kenneth Weaver and neice Sonya Bridwell. Also surviving are seven granchildren, Jonathon, Jarrod, Nick (Casey), Nate (Mary Allison; Megan Marie, Austin and Riley Ann Marie Toppins. All that knew Evelyn knew how proud she was of her family. She loved to make her famous apple pie and can beets/jellies for the Scioto County Fair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Denise Toppins, stepmother Lena Jenkins, brothers Freddy and Stephen Jenkins, sister Letha C. Weaver and nephew Bryan Hall.
 
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with interment at Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 PM at the Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to SOMC Hospice.
 
The family cannot thank the SOMC Hospice staff enough for the wonderful care and kindness this past week.
 
 
Dean Noble
March 21, 1931-November 14, 2010
 
 
W. Dean Noble, 79, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 14th, 2010, at his home in Florida. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends whom Dean had touched in some way through his long and very memorable life. Dean was born in Sciotoville on March 21, 1931, the son of the late Frank and Margaret Noble.
 
He dedicated his life to his faith in Jesus Christ, family, and his Allstate career of over 25 years.
 
He is survived by his wife, Irene Bennett Noble, of 55 years, And two children, Kim Morrison and husband Frank, of Columbus, and Brian Noble and wife Jamie, of Minford. Also surviving are his brother Tom Noble and wife Mary Anne, of Columbus, and sister Diann Hamilton and husband Ed, of the Villages, Florida; two grandsons Jason Noble and wife Megan, of Wheelersburg and Ryan Noble, of Charleston, W.Va; and two great grandchildren, Adalyn and Ryker Noble; step grand children Aaron Morrison, Anna Morrison, Lydia Rivera, Jordan Bihl and step great-grandchildren Skylyn, Mallory, and Samuel, and one niece, Cheri Trein. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Marsha Kay Noble, who died at birth, and one niece, Lee Anne Bethel.
 
Dean's celebration Service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 11 am at Berean Baptist Church, corner of Winchester and Bloom, Sciotoville, with Fred Mann, David Price, and Kevin Gullion officiating, with burial at Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Sgt. Shawn D. Fannin
March 28, 1978-November 12, 2010
Shawn D. Fannin, 32, of Wheelersburg, died Friday, November 12, 2010, in Afghanistan.
 
He was born March 28, 1978, in Montgomery, West Virginia, a son of Donald Collins of Wheelersburg and Mickey Coon Petry, of Wheelersburg.
 
He was a Sergeant in the U. S. Army Veteran stationed in Afgahanistan and a 1997 graduate of Glenwood High School. He is survived by his wife, Amparo Vitela Fannin; two daughters, Juliana and Isabella Fannin, at home; two brothers, Donnie Collins and Nicholas Collins, both of Wheelersburg; two sisters, Kerry England and husband Brent, of Indiana, and Dawn Fannin, of Wheelersburg; and his grandmother, Ruth Coon, of Wheelersburg.
 
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Truth Tabernacle in Wheelersburg, with Pastor Robert Davis officiating, with burial at Memorial Burial Park.
